Breed in Focus

We look at one particular breed in greater detail. Accompanied with beautiful photographs you can get to know the history, facts and the show standards required to get a prize winning bird.

Interviews

Get to know some of the people who make a big contribution to the fancy: breeders, show winners and the occasional celebrity poultry keeper. Speaking to them we gain an insight into the secrets of their success.

Around the Shows

Poultry shows take place all the time up and down the country, each month we have a round up of local and national show results, with reports and lots of photos.

Contributors

Led by Editor Jed Dwight, Fancy Fowl is proud to feature a range of poultry keepers, breeders and judges from across the hobby. These come in the shape of reports from shows, events and sales; first class ‘Breed in Focus’ articles; interviews with fanciers at their homes as well as ‘Life Stories’ interviews, when readers hear from some of the UK’s most experienced poultry keepers.

Columnists

In a long-standing tradition, Mike Hatcher continues as Fancy Fowl’s columnist, covering a whole range of topics in and around poultry keeping throughout the UK and beyond.

Photography

A keen photographer himself, our Editor Jed is grateful to have the support of a number of photographers from both the UK and internationally, ensuring the very best images are featured within the magazine each month. Regular contributors include Chris Parker, Rupert Stephenson, Matthieu Leuridan, Joshua Kittle, Cathy Newton, Václav Nedělka, Holger Schellschmidt and D&S Poultry Pics.
